Christmas Fun in Utah, Idaho and Washington ! ! !

Christmas in Utah was very white. In fact, we were singing, "I'm dreaming of a not-quite-so- white Christmas." Here's our house. You can't see the lights around the front window, and across the roof, going around the side of the house, but they're there. The wreaths on the door and around the sconces top off our Christmas decorations. But the snow is the icing on the cake. : ) On Christmas Eve, Joe, Heather and their little girls, Gracie and Janie joined us for a tastey ham dinner. Heather brought the funeral potatoes, rolls and a beautiful pecan pie. I'm afraid that we all ate too much. But it was sooooo good!

The homemade pecan pie was way better than the Smith's Marketplace, Chocolate Silk pie.

We brought a box full of Nativity Play costumes from Saudi Arabia for our Christmas Story re-inactment. Jane and Grace made a really cute Mary and Shephard.

Grace and Jane were natural born actors for our Christmas Eve enjoyment!

Janie had a great debut in her part as a shephard, but lacked volume. Maybe she should have played the little drummer girl.

We planned to drive to Boise on Christmas day, but the weather threw a wrench into our plans, and delayed us by a day. Highway 84 from the Idaho border was closed, and road conditions were trecherous, so we waited, and still had to go via Pocatello on the 26th. But we made it without problems (despite the couple of extra hours on the road).

The repeat performance, with a new cast took place in Boise, when we visited with Andrea, Rick, and their little girls, Zoe, Taytem and Rylee. Taytem was a great shephard, and loved using Lambie Pie as a prop. Rylee was a great angel, and Zoe did a great job as Mary.

Our traveling show made it to Arlington, Washington, and Will and Leah did a great job as the Shephard and Mary.

We had so much fun playing with our grandchildren. They're all good kids, and have so much energy. We've been blessed with a beautiful family. It will be so nice when we live a little cloaser, and can see them all on a much more regular basis.
