Putzing in the yard!
We spent the weekend working on putting in several new Day Lilly plants. We got a new hybrid called "Ruby Spider", which won the best of 2009. We put in four of these. We also got three others called "Orange Dream". They are fairly small now but will grow and spread and be great next year.
We put our garden in in the middle of June (way late) but it is coming along fine. We planted two tomato plants on the upper left, two peppers, one hill of cucumbers and one hill of zucchini. We also have carrots, lettuce, basil and cilantro. It's the prettiest garden we ever had. It stands to be seen if we will have much of a harvest. We thinned the cilantro and basil and carrots today and had a nice salad, so I guess we are already reaping the rewards.
Our Russian Sage is in full bloom and is attracting bees like mad. It smell real pretty!
We like some yard work but not a lot!!! Our place is just right for us. We are enjoying Utah's summer going on hikes, bike rides, fishing, golfing, and generally having a good time. Retirement is great!!!
