We had our first skiing adventure of the winter this past Thursday at Brighton Ski Resort up Big Cottonwood Canyon in the mountains above Salt Lake City. Brighton gets nice powder and is not the most popular with out of state visitors which is a plus. The snow was great and the sun was shining. Sue had not been for over 20 years and Dave had not been for over 10. In October we purchased a 10 pass book for $350 which is way cheap relative to their normal prices. We are committed to going another four times at least.
Both of us were sore after about four hours of skiing. We went on the easy bunny slope for about 5 or 6 runs and then went to the intermediate mountain for several runs. Sue did great and only fell a couple of times. Dave tried to teach her but she was already a good beginner. For our last run we went to the top of the mountain at about 10,500'. It was nippy up there but we had a great view of the back of Timpanogos Mountain. The runs were less groomed and steeper and it was a challenge for Sue but she did great. We were both fairly tired and somewhat sore so we ended our day at around 3 pm.
Here are some of the nice pictures we took.
That is the back of Timpanogos Mountain in the background!
