On September 9th, we picked up Brian and Deb Wallick at the SLC Airport for a very enjoyable golfing / shopping, get-together. Scott Eberle and his wife were with us as well. We enjoyed three wonderful days and nights, sharing a vacation home in Midway, Utah.
Brian and Deb are still working in Saudi Arabia. Scott retired from Aramco at about the same time that we left the Middle East and they now live in Redmond, Oregon.

When we all lived in Saudi Arabia together, the guys golfed together two to three times a week. They became great friends, and thoroughly enjoyed perfecting, and working on their golf skills. Deb and Sue knew each other through the Dhahran Women's Group. Jeanie Eberle is the new addition to our group. Scott and Jeanie were married shortly after Scott retired. She's a perfect match for Scott and has melded very nicely into our group as well.
During our three-days together, the men played golf two or three times. The women shopped! We had a great time at the Tanger, Factory Outlet Mall in Park City. We also enjoyed finding three great restaurants, and eating together. But the highlight of our time together was going to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's weekly production of "Music and the Spoken Word" on Sunday. We all loved the music, walking around Temple Square and touring the Conference Center.
Our time together was so enjoyable that we've decided to make it a yearly event. We're calling it the "Sciver's Revival", each couple taking turns to plan and organize the get-together. Scott and Jeanie will be in charge of the 2012 event.
Strong friendships are valuable. It's often difficult to find good people to associate with -- especially good couples. We found a perfect mix with Deb and Brian, Scott and Jeanie, Sue and Dave. It was a wonderful three-day reunion!
