When we arrived at their house in Lehi, Utah, Joe was laying on the couch with a blanket over him. He had a fever, and wasn't feeling too well. Not the best way to start the new year!!! We played with our little grand children a little, ate a nice ham dinner and that Heather prepared, and went home by about 8:00 PM.
The TV was on in our bedroom as 12:00 AM approached, but I (Sue) had long past fallen asleep. Dave rolled over, and gave me a kiss when the TV and clock indicated the hour had arrived. And that was it. . . . a quiet entrance into 2012.
Dave took his turn with the flu bug which lasted three days starting the next day. Surely, there's something to say for getting it out of the way early in the year. . . isn't there?
