PRIINCE EDWARD ISLAND

Neither of us had been up in Prince Edward Island, and we decided to push our NE, USA trip up into Canada a bit, and check out Ann of Green Gables Land.  We were very impressed with the rolling hills of clean, well maintained farmland.  So many of the residences were surrounded by acres and acres of beautifully mowed lawns.  The vacation cottages on the water were often colorful.  More than anything else, we were impressed with how orderly it all was.

We learned that PEI is a seasonal place though.  We were there the middle of October, and almost all of the restaurants and shops were closed in the coastal villages.  We were told that come labor day, everything closes down, and the snowbirds leave.
Here I am in front of the Green Gables house.  We learned a lot about LM Montgomery, the author of the famous Ann Shirley book.
We were surprised that the Green Gables visitor center remained open.  We viewed a short movie about LM Montgomery.
This beach on the north, central part of PEI was cold and really windy.
We enjoyed our time in Canada.
