DHAHRAN BIDS FAREWELL

On Thursday, April 16th, from 6 to 8 PM, the Dhahran Ward Activities Committee did themselves proud with very enjoyable Middle Eastern music, very attractive decorations, flowery farewell speeches, and tasty food to bid a fond farewell to the Alexander, and their friends, the Shurtliffs (below on the left) who are leaving at about the same time.




Ma Asalama is the Arabic word for "So long, Adios, See you around, or Farewell". Ward and neighborhood friends, came to enjoy the visiting and reminiscing of good times in the past, as well as an offering of best wishes for the future.

Debbie Larson (far left) was here when we arrived, but left when the first Gulf war started. Then they returned about five years ago. Ned Waite, (center, to the left of Dave) came shortly after we arrived.



They presented us with a beautiful coffee table book on Saudi Arabia that all our guests autographed, and wrote really nice things about us. Cory Conner, to the right, came two years after we came. (note the pretty decorations.)


























The Lewindowskis on the left have been in Saudi Arabia almost 30 years! The first 20 were in Jeddah where he was the Bishop, and now he's the Branch President in Al Khobar.



























Marie Haws is the one in the navy. She was my Education Counselor in the stake Relief Society.


The Wagners and the Haws drove up for our farewell party from Riyadh. What great friends!!! This is Linda Wagner, signing our Saudi Arabia book.
