On the 22nd of July, the Tanners went north and we went south. We explored the beauties of the Southern Oregon and northern California coasts.
We stopped at one place on the beach and enjoyed a hike up the coast. We'd forgotten how hard it is to walk in the sand.
The "Avenue of the Giants" was one of those unexpected wonders that we just happened on. It was beautiful, and awesome, and enchanted all at the same time! We took several opportunities to hike around, feeling almost miniaturized by our surroundings! The trees were gigantic, and the clover was even BIG. So beautiful!
On our way south we crossed the Klamath River and saw a crowd on the bridge. We stopped to see what the excitement was about and discovered that they were watching a gray whale and her calf in the river. It was quite a site to see!!!
It was cool but sunny in San Francisco and we enjoyed seeing the downtown area including Fishermans Warf and the famous Golden Gate Bridge.
It was a great trip!
