Characters

There is never a shortage of good people watching in China.
The other day, we took the bus to the “High Tech Mart”, to get some printer cartridges, and we missed the bus-spot that would have taken us closest to our destination.  We had to walk about four blocks back, and we passed this guy, trying to sell some old TVs.  His display was set up right in front of a TV store.  I can’t imagine who would have bought them.  They were at least thirty years old, and very dusty.

This man was playing a one stringed instrument of some kind.  They’re very typical of China, and we’ve seen them around.  He did a really good job.  He had it hooked up to an amplifier, and it sounded quite nice.
